Some told me it inspired them to push through their self-doubts and initiated their return to two-wheels. ´Opinião: Ora, o calendário UCI World Cup cada vez está mais curtinho!
Sinceramente acho que isto é mau para os atletas e para a modalidade, vão treinar o ano todo, só para os 3 meses de alta competição!?
Ainda nao compreendi porque isto funciona assim, um desporto de alto risco, facilmente um atleta se lesiona e facilmente perde a época, não a tempo para recuperar.
Não é bom para a competição, pois beneficia aqueles atletas que não dão tudo, são os que raramente se lesionam, apenas fazem o suficiente para conseguirem ser regulares nos lugares cimeiros. Espero que me tenha feito entender.

Em comparação ao Ano 2012, saim duas provas Windham e Val d'Isère, as duas provas mais fracas do calendário 2012. Em boa hora entra Vallnord Andorra, qualquer um pode ir lá pela proximidade.
Ainda não vai ser este ano que a Taça do mundo estreia em Portugal, mas esta não seria a melhor altura, certo?

Esta aberta a janela de oportunidade, para alguma entidade criar uma nova competição anual e alternativa a UCI. O campeonato DH1 Series 2012 foi encerrado antes de arrancar, venha outro. :(

Vi o DVD no ano passado, penso que foi o primeiro filme exclusivo, só com riders raparigas, bem fixe!
Sempre houve poucos videos de raparigas que praticam MTB como estilo de vida, por exemplo de Portuguesas ainda não vi nada. Mas hoje em dia as coisas começam a mudar, e a medida que evoluem e se tornam populares, a industria vai convidar as raparigas a mostrar o seu talento.

´Esta ele! Reynolds estava em grande forma a lutar pelo topo do ranking FMB, mas sofreu uma queda grave nos Les 2 Alpes(Best Trick).
Por ser muito destemido, arriscou fazer um duplo backflip mesmo com o vento a complicar. Custou-lhe a época 2012, vêm-se alguns riders no FMB a levantar troféus sem arriscar quase nada, mas a outros que dão o seu melhor, superam-se em todas as provas e muitas vezes não conseguem uma run limpa para ganhar e por vezes lesionam-se. Espero que tenham entendido a mensagem.

O Rampage 2012 deu-me um «click», fui a procura de adrenalina, procurei spots para construir trilhos, dá-me imenso prazer construir coisas novas, experimentar novos terrenos.
E procurando bem encontra-se, acho que o nosso pequeno pais é incrível, é tanta a diversidade.

Voltando ao ponto de situação do blog, tranquilo, isto segue o seu caminho, vai voltar ao ritmo que tinha, posts com regularidade e sempre em cima do acontecimento.
Penso que daqui para a frente vou apostar ainda mais na diversidade de temas e contextos, tambem espero conseguir escrever alguma coisa interessante. Se curtem, voltem sempre.

We filmed Las Vegas,Long Beach and Montreal but it was way to hot in Las Vegas which is
why we didn‘t film much there once we arrived back in Montreal Jeremy had to go back to Ottawa and i broke my foot on the first session so i couldn't ride anymore. After a couple days i felt good enough to film some clips with Michel.
All in all it was a super sick trip, had a good time, met a lot of nice people and i cant wait for the next trip!

Sorge's Winning Run at Red Bull Rampage 2012

Grandíssimo evento de mountain bike.
O espectáculo durou 3 horas, foi arrepiante e emocionante até ao ultimo minuto.
No geral correu muito bem aos organizadores, um sucesso tremendo. Não houve quedas graves, que era o maior receio.

Kurt Sorge foi o justo vencedor, escolheu uma linha notável, onde conseguiu ser rápido e sacar varias manobras.

Cam McCaul fez tambem uma descida memorável, foi o único na final a saltar o Canyon gap, mas sabe-se lá porque os juris deram-lhe uma nota pequena. Tanto esforço e risco podiam ter sido mais recompensados.

Semenuk ganha o titulo FMB World Tour 2012.
As coisas não lhe correram muito bem, fez o 14º lugar, mas o Martin Söderström tambem não conseguiu os pontos que precisava, ambos lutavam e mereciam o titulo pela excelente temporada, mas acabou por ser Semenuk a levar mais uma vez a melhor.

Introdução: Os grandes nomes do mountain bike estão concentrados no deserto Utah.
O Rampage fecha o calendário FMB World Tour 2012, com um grande evento classificado Diamante. A mais «extreme» de todas as competições, é onde o downhill, freeride e dirt jump se ligam, para uma aventura slopestyle.

Bikes: A primeira duvida dos participantes começa por escolher o gênero de bike, que varia pelo tipo de descida que vão fazer.
Possivelmente a bike que mais se adapta ao terreno e aos enormes saltos é a «downhileira» passo a expressão, por ter suspensões com mais curso, dá mais estabilidade e mais control a alta velocidade.
Mas muitos riders, preferem agilidade e leveza, podem optar pelas bikes freeride, para ganhar pontos com manobras do gênero tailwhip, barspin, só possível com suspensão croa simples.

Não é brincadeira, é a final. 
Uma curiosidade, são três riders do topo do ranking FMB a discutir o titulo. Söderström e Genon, primeiro ainda tem de passar na qualificação, para discutir o titulo com Semenuk já pré-qualificado. O Semenuk precisa de classificar-se nos primeiros 3 lugares para renovar o titulo campeão FMB World Tour.

No dia 5 de Outubro a ProRide Eventos e o Grupo de Jovens do Arripiado, irão organizar mais uma vez uma etapa do Circuito Nacional de Dirt Jumping na aldeia de Arripiado, concelho da Chamusca, distrito de Santarém. O evento terá lugar na pista permanente junto ao parque de merendas à beira Tejo.

O jogo Downhill Domination para a PS2, recebeu boas criticas, mas ainda não é um grande jogo MTB, que se assemelha a realidade, e não entendo porquê, a bons jogos de desportos radicais, Motocross, Skate, BMX, Rally etc..
De certeza um dia vai sair um grande jogo de MTB, a muita gente a pedir e alguem vai explorar isso, imaginem o quanto era divertido descer as pistas dh da uci world cup no jogo. imaginem o Rampage ou Wristler Crankworx recriado num jogo PC, era fantástico.

Sam Pilgrim, HOW-TO flair!

´o flair é uma manobra pro, que vem do street bmx.
 Parece muito complicada e difícil de chegar lá, mas depois de ver este video do Pilgrim descomplicou tudo.

Isto é basicamente um 360º na vertical ?!
Como treinar isto? Constrói-se um quarter pipe numa encosta de terra, começa-se a praticar os 180, 360, até ganhar experiencia para sacar o tal flair. Praticar no skatepark as quedas doem mais que no dirt.

´um edit genial, uma bike linda e muita técnica. já nem me lembro de ter visto alguem fazer um Decade no chão, ele faz isso mais ao menos ao 1m50, até parece fácil.

Filipe, the dream come true.

Do Funchal para o mundo, Filipe é conhecido como o Supermarket biker, um fenômeno de popularidade na comunidade Pinkbike. Com ajuda dos amigos, fez um video que foi um sucesso instantâneo, mostrou o talento que conseguiu a praticar downhill/freeride com a sua antiquada bicicleta, que os pais lhe compraram no hipermercado. A bike durou anos, mas acabou por partir-se e ele não vê possibilidade de comprar uma de qualidade.

Entretanto a GIANT, lança um concurso em que sorteia uma bicicleta de downhill para o melhor video. O Filipe faz novo edit com a mesma história, desde logo é apoiado pela comunidade, o sonho de ter uma verdadeira bike downhill tornou-se realidade, ainda incluído no prêmio, uma viagem a Wristler durante o Crankworx 2012.

´A essência da história é que mesmo com uma bike barata, isso não o impediu de curtir os trilhos e evoluir. Filipe teve a sorte que sonhava, e a história não fica por aqui, é só o começo.
