Description:Mike Hopkins and James Doerfling are two of the biggest names in big mountain freeriding. This summer, Mike and I headed up to Williams Lake to sample some of James' hometown terrain and test out some lines in a big mountain rider's dream area. The only hitch in our plan was the heat; starting our trip at the end of June, we bore the brunt of summer's anger, and the desert sun was our primary antagonist. The only thing to be done was try to build early in the mornings and ride as the sun began to set; this made for some good light while shooting, and some long days digging and hiking on the hottest days of the year.
